About Us
Experience
Charles-York is a supplier of high quality coal to the global marketplace.
We offer high grade metallurgical, thermal and anthracite coal. Cargo is loaded at the U.S. ports of Norfolk and Baltimore as well as New Orleans in the Gulf of Mexico. Export markets served include Asia, the Middle East, and Canada.
Charles-York is comprised of legal, business, coal and financial services professionals, most of whom have over 25 years of experience. We have our headquarters in West Virginia, and another office New Jersey; with representatives in Maryland and Australia.

Principals
Paul Saluja
Paul is an accomplished legal counsel and business partner with over twenty-five (30+) years of experience primarily in the mining industry. Paul has a technical background in chemistry. Paul has served as General Counsel for a multi-national energy and mining corporation with revenues in excess of $30B. Paul earned his BA from West Virginia State University and his JD from Ohio Northern University where he graduated in the top 10 in his class.
George Colonias
George has 30 years of financial markets and international business experience. He has held Series 7 / 63 licenses and currently holds his insurance producer licenses.
George has been involved in a variety of markets ranging from both debt and equity markets, insurance, international trade, and the mining industry.
He earned a BS from the University of Maryland, an Advanced Professional Certificate in information Technology from NYU, and an MBA from Duke University.
Jerald Belofsky (Advisor)
Jerry is an investment banker and attorney. Jerry founded and was CEO of the Investment Bank Oldfield Capital in New York City which focused on advisory and consulting assignments for international clients. At Oppenheimer AG (with offices in Zurich and New York) he started and ran the emerging markets investment activities of this Swiss family office. During his time with Oppenheimer, he managed projects in Oman, Bahrain, Dubai, China, Singapore, and Eastern Europe that produced $48 million in fee income over a five-year period, and managed consulting assignments for governments in restructuring alternative investments in Kuwait, workouts of real estate and industrial projects in Dubai, Bahrain, Greece, and Albania, and a bank restructuring in Bosnia.
