Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development
Reliable supply begins with understanding exactly what the customer requires and identifying sources capable of meeting those requirements. Charles-York evaluates product specifications, quality, quantity, origin, production capability, timing, logistics, and commercial terms while developing relationships with producers, processors, suppliers, and other market participants. Our objective is not simply to locate available material, but to develop qualified supply relationships capable of supporting both immediate transactions and longer-term requirements.
International Logistics
Materials may move by truck, rail, pipeline, barge, bulk vessel, specialized carrier, container, or a combination of transportation modes before reaching their destination. Charles-York works with logistics providers and commercial participants to evaluate the appropriate pathway from the producer or processing facility through ports and terminals to the ultimate purchaser or end user. By considering logistics during transaction development, rather than after commercial terms have been established, we seek to create supply pathways that are practical, efficient, and executable.
Specialized Supply Chains
Different products require different supply-chain strategies. Coal and Petcoke depend upon efficient bulk transportation and terminal infrastructure, LNG requires coordination among liquefaction facilities, specialized carriers and receiving terminals, while critical minerals and rare earths may move through multiple processing stages and jurisdictions before reaching a manufacturer. Charles-York applies product-specific knowledge to understand the complete physical pathway and develop commercial structures appropriate to the material being moved.
